Women in Business Programme

Eligibility

The Women in Business programme is specifically focused on women-led SMEs, meaning businesses with fewer than 250 employees and less than €50 million in annual turnover or with a balance sheet total of less than €43 million. For your business to qualify for this programme, overall operational management responsibility for the company should be held by a woman, who may also partially or wholly own the business.

To establish that a woman has overall management responsibility for the business, we look at the following for each company type:

    • the top manager (generally identified as the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operations Officer, General Manager, General Director etc., etc.) is a woman (who could be a member of the board of directors or a third person), as delegated by the board of directors or;
    • the majority of directors are women (if there is no official delegation as above)
  • Limited Company (“LC”)
    • one of the shareholders and managers is a woman and she has representative and managing powers for the company (by delegation of the manager or shareholder meeting) or the majority of managers are women, or;
    • the top manager (generally identified as the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operations Officer, General Manager, General Director etc., etc.) is a woman (who could be a member of board of directors or a third person) as delegated by the board of directors
  • Collective Company (“CLC”)
    • one of the partners is a woman and either (i) is sharing statutory managerial responsibility with the other partner or partners or (ii) has been appointed by the other partners to exercise such managerial powers, or;
